University of Antwerp

Antwerp has a worldwide network of cultural and economic relations. This is reflected in the student body of the university. The University of Antwerp has bilateral co-operation agreements with partner institutions around the world, is an active partner in a variety of international exchange programmes, and receives a large number of foreign Ph.D. students, researchers and visiting professors. Undergraduate courses are mainly taught in Dutch, although some courses as well as postgraduate and continuing education programmes are available in other languages.

itmma_house.jpgThe university offers a range of study programmes in the maritime field, mainly organized by the interdisciplinary Institute of Transport and Maritime Management Antwerp (ITMMA). And it goes without saying that research in this domain is extensive.

The University of Antwerp has a long tradition in development studies. The courses and research of the Department of Development Studies and the Institute of Development Policy and Management are internationally renowned for their expertise. Many professors of the University participate in development programmes of the Flemish Interuniversity Council.

Linguapolis offers a wide range of foreign language courses as well as intensive Dutch courses.
