ITMMA is an institute within the official structures of the University of Antwerp (UA), one of the largest universities in Belgium. The University of Antwerp offers education in the arts, political and social sciences, law, applied economics, commercial engineering, natural and medical sciences, pharmacy, biomedical and veterinary  ciences, pedagogic and information sciences. It is an entrepreneurial university which focuses largely on scientific research, and as such competes for grants on an international basis.
